What to do with the blank spreads in your planner?
Are there pages in your paper planner, which have been intentionally left blank? Have you missed an entry and don’t know how to fill it up? While these spaces can be left alone, you can turn these pages into something wonderful and memorable.
Here’s what you can do.
Get creative on how to present the highlights of your week or month. It may come in bullet form, an essay, or doodles. You can add tasks lists here for things that you have not yet completed for that month. This is great for spaces that come in between different parts of your planner.
Spend some time reflecting on yourself and taking note of affirmations to keep the good vibes going. It’s an “I am ______” statement which means that you want to take charge of the next words after it. Write down positive statements to drive you to action and a place of confidence and security.
As the space in itself jumps right out of your planner, it’s good to place things that you need to remember. How about listing the books that you’re planning to read, or track your expenses for the month/week? You can also list down your exercise routine or the food that you eat if you're starting out your fitness journey. Make it as loud or as colorful as you want ,so that you can trick yourself into looking back and going forward with it.
If you’re shy about showing the progress of your calligraphy or a snippet of your poem, the best place to place it is inside your journal. It’s your safe space to show your creativity. You can make a little mood board to express the emotion that you’re experiencing at that moment. It doesn’t have to be perfect as it’s a space of your own. It’s up to you whether you share it with others or want to keep it to yourself.
This might sound like another tracker but it’s for a different purpose. It is here that you can plan and envision what you want to do and achieve. It’s a running list of things that you want to accomplish in life or within the next 5 years when you write it down. It keeps you looking forward, especially during trying times like the pandemic.
Being grateful for the things that you have and the people around you have a positive impact on your mental health. It keeps you grounded and happy when you list down the things that you are thankful for. It also keeps you less stressed as you focus more on the positive emotions and do away with the negative.

If you can’t find anything to write or draw, you can leave it as it is. There’s no need to pressure yourself to create. Inspiration can pop up anytime, and when that happens, your page is waiting and ready.
